Pak surrender before IMF; Sharif govt pleads for rescue, accepts all conditions

Pakistan has conveyed its willingness to accept all major conditions set by the International Monetary Fund and has requested the body to send its mission to Pakistan at the earliest. Pakistan is seeking to revive a loan programme with the IMF as it stares at a dwindling economy and faces a default risk. The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. A Pak govt official told Dawn that the country had no other exit route from default and that the IMF bailout package was a remedy for all challenges that Pakistan faces today.
