Updated on Feb 06, 2019 01:59 pm IST
Pope Francis said on Tuesday that more needed to be done to stop the mistreatment of women. Francis described it as a “cultural problem” that sees women as “second class citizens”. He also addressed sexual abuse within the Catholic Church, specifically the abuse of nuns by priests and bishops. He acknowledged that it is probably “still taking place” and pledged to do more in the future.
