The United States has designated countries like Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia as countries of particular concern under its Religious Freedom Act over severe human rights violations. U.S Secretary of State Antony Blinken also designated the Kremlin-aligned Wagner Group as an entity of particular concern over its activities in the Central African Republic. The act gives Blinken a range of policy responses, including sanctions or waivers.
