Trump blasts Spain over NATO defense spending, warns of tariffs, expulsion

Donald Trump has ignited a fresh storm within NATO, this time targeting Spain. While speaking to the press at the White House, Trump accused Madrid of “disrespecting” NATO by failing to meet the new 5% defense spending benchmark and warned he may impose punitive tariffs in response. Calling Spain “the only one not paying up,” Trump even suggested that NATO should consider expelling it from the alliance altogether.
