A former U.S. Navy seal commando, Daniel Swift, has been killed in a Russian assault in the city of Bakhmut. According to the U.S. Navy, Swift suffered injuries after a unit he was fighting with came under Russia's attack. He died on Wednesday. Swift deserted the American military nearly four years ago, in March 2019. The fighting is raging for the strategic town of Bakhmut as Russian forces have stepped up their offensive.
