US President Joe Biden and Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping talked for the first time in seven months Thursday, with both leaders urging a path away from conflict but holding ground on fierce competition between the superpowers. During the call, which lasted for about 90 minutes, Biden raised a number of issues with Jinping including security, rights'abuses, covid-19 origin probe and tensions in Pacific region.
