Three British university students and close friends Paul Archer, Johno Ellison and Leigh Purnell have set a world record for completing the longest ever journey by taxi. The three boys who began their journey 15 months ago traveled across 51 different countries in 450 days. The trio reached 17,143 feet at Everest Base camp, which is the highest altitude covered by a taxi, before clocking up the longest journey of 43,321 miles. They drove 43,321 miles in 'Hannah', their 20-year old black London cab, and covered a journey that would have racked up a fare of nearly £80,000.
