Nepal's first president is sworn in

Amid political limbo over government formation, Indian-origin Madhesi leader Ram Baran Yadav was sworn-in as the first President of Nepal, three days after his victory in a historic poll for the coveted post. Ram Baran Yadav took his oath in Nepal's new constitutional assembly, which had voted on May 28 to sack unpopular king Gyanendra.
