Olympic torch arrives in Pakistan

The Olympic Torch arrived in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad early on April 16 on the first part of its journey through Asia to the Beijing Olympics. The torch arrived from Oman accompanied by a 170-strong delegation of the Beijing organising committee. It was received by retired Lieutenant-General Syed Arif Hasan, President of the Pakistan Olympic Association and other officials.
