Pak court bars Sharif from by-election

A Pakistani court on Monday disqualified former PM Nawaz Sharif on from contesting a by-election for a seat in the National Assembly later this week. Workers and supporters of Sharif's PML-N party protested outside high court following the decision. Sharif was barred from running in a general election in February because he had been convicted for the 1999 hijacking of then army Chief Musharraf's plane.
