Pakistan appeals ruling to release Mumbai suspect

Pakistan lodged appeals on Monday against a court decision to release an Islamist militant leader Hafiz Mohammad Saeed wanted in India, where he has been accused of plotting a bloody assault on the Indian city of Mumbai in November. The federal and Punjab provincial governments filed separate petitions in the Supreme Court on Monday, seeking the reversal of the order to release Saeed and one associate.
