Former Pakistan prime minister Benazir Bhutto said on December 6 that her party was struggling for the "restoration of democracy and rule" of law in the country. Earlier, Bhutto had accused the government of planning to rig the election in favour of pro-Musharraf candidates, and has called for a reconstitution of the Election Commission. Meanwhile, hundreds of lawyers took to the streets in Lahore, demanding restoration of judges.
