Tibetan protests near Chinese embassy
Updated on Apr 17, 2009 08:26 pm IST
Tibetans are continuing with their protests outside the Chinese embassy in New Delhi. They are of the view that the sentence meted out to rioters in Tibet capital of Lhasa in 2008 is grossly unfair and a clear violation of human rights. Two Tibetans have received suspended death sentences, while another has been jailed for life. Chanting slogans of 'Free Tibet', the protesters are demanding independence for their homeland. They were eventually lead away by the police.
