Beijing framed renewed US‑Russia dialogue as a shared expectation of the international community, while Moscow expressed regret over the treaty’s end but pledged to remain a “responsible” nuclear power as Washington and Moscow reopen high-level military contacts after talks in Abu Dhabi. At the same briefing, China also signalled openness to repairing ties with Lithuania after Prime Minister Inga Ruginiene called the opening of a “Taiwanese Representative Office” in Vilnius a strategic mistake, with Beijing urging Vilnius to realign fully with the One‑China principle.
