The decision emerged from a high-level meeting of the Engineering Development Board (EDB), chaired by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar Khan, as per a report by PhoneWorld Pakistan.
During the meeting, officials reviewed and finalised the Mobile and Electronic Devices Manufacturing Policy 2026–33. The policy will now be presented to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for formal approval.
Federal Secretary for Industries and Production Saif Anjum and EDB Chief Executive Officer Hammad Mansoor attended the session along with other senior officials.
