Adolfredo Alpino, a health official in eastern Sucre state, told state television, the bus veered off the road and fell to the sea on Friday as it tried to avoid a car that crossed into its lane. He said at least 11 were killed.

Video footage showed rescue workers and local people pulling one injured person onto a boat. Some swam in the water helping to look for survivors. There was no sign of the bus, which disappeared underwater.
