Death toll rises to 25 in China parlour blast
At least 25 people were killed and 33 others injured when a powerful explosion ripped through a karaoke parlour in a minority area in northeast China last night, the provincial government said on Thursday.
Rescuers had finished clearing up the debris and found 25 charred bodies, according to the Liaoning provincial government.
The explosion happened at 8:50 pm (6:20 pm IST) in Tianshifu Township, Benxi Autonomous County of Manchu Nationality. Four of the injured are reported to be in a serious condition.
Local officials have ordered that every effort be made to rescue the victims and identify the cause of the accident.
