A moderate 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck near New Zealand's North Island on Wednesday, the US Geological Survey said.
The agency said the quake hit at 23.12pm (1112 GMT), some 25 kilometres (15 miles) from Gisborn on the east coast, at a depth of 20 kilometres.
