The high-speed Sapsan Peregrine Falcon train noiselessly pulled into the Moskovsky railway station strictly as scheduled, at 22:45 (local time), having crossed the distance of 650 kilometers between Russia's two major cities in 3 hours 45 minutes.

"It feels really great, you know," said a woman passenger Xenia.

"My friends and I are just delighted. The coaches are comfortable and warm and you don't feel any bumps or snaps when it moves."

"We just didn't notice how we found ourselves back home," she added.

Galina, a coach hostess, said she and other coach attendants had taken a course of practical studies at the Aeroflot airline prior to taking up this job.

"These coaches do resemble the cabin of a jet," she said. "Everything's so comfortable and convenient and all the details having been considered, including how we serve meals to passengers."

As of today, the Sapsan trains begin cruising between Moscow and St Petersburg under a regular schedule.
