Somali president names new prime minister

Somali President Abdullahi Yusuf said today he had named Mohamed Mohamud Guled, a former interior minister, as premier.

Somali President Abdullahi Yusuf said on Tuesday he had named Mohamed Mohamud Guled, a former interior minister, as premier.

"As I had promised to appoint a prime minister within three days I have appointed Mohamed Mohamud Guled," Yusuf said on local radio.
