South Africa confirms first case of H1N1 flu

South Africa has identified the first case of the H1N1 flu virus in the country, the Department of Health said on Thursday.

South Africa has identified the first case of the H1N1 flu virus in the country, the Department of Health said on Thursday.

The patient, a 12-year-old who flew in from the US on Sunday, was admitted to hospital on Monday and was kept in isolation.

He was discharged and is recovering in isolation at home, the department said in a statement.
