'Told my son the plane won't crash': Mother who lost two children in MH17

A grieving mother of two boys who died aboard MH17 recounts her youngest son's eerie premonition before getting on the plane, and the last time she would hug them goodbye.

The moment will stay etched in Samira Calehr's mind forever. The moment when she hugged her 11-year-old son Miguel one last time.

Mother of two MH 17 victims, Samira is yet to come to terms with the fact she would never see her sons again.

The visibly shattered mother shares her younger son's premonition before he boarded the ill-fated airplane that was downed over Ukrainian airspace last week.

"You have to go to the gate before the passport check, and then Miguel came back to me, he ran with his big brown eyes, he hugged me, and he told me, like, 'Mama, I am going to miss you'. 'I am going to miss you, too, I will see you in three weeks'. He said, 'No, but I am really going to miss you. What if the plane crashes?' I said, 'The plane will not crash," she said.

All of 11 and 19 years, Samira's sons were on-board the Malaysian passenger airliner that was hit by a missile fired from rebel-held territory in Ukraine.

Samira recalled how just before take off her elder son sent her a text message from the airplane saying he would take good care of Miguel.

"And then hand in hand, they were walking through the gates and he (her son Shaka) still sent me a text message on the plane to tell me, 'Mum, we are going to miss you a lot, and don't worry, because I will take care of him, I will take care of him, he's my baby," she said.

Left with just one of her three sons now, reality finally hit Samira when the first batch of victims' bodies arrived in Eindhoven.

"When I saw the bodies come I was like... 'Oh my God'. This is reality, my sons, they are gone."

"They were just angels, angels," said Samira.
