After Malaika Arora-Arbaaz Khan, Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma, Farhan Akhtar-Adhuna, another celebrity couple is reportedly on the rocks. We are not happy when we say this but it looks like Ankita Lokhande and Sushant Singh Rajput have broken up.
If you have been following Sushant closely on Instagram, you may have noticed fewer to almost no more photographs of the two stars together who have been living together.
The last time they were spotted as a couple was at the Zee Cine Awards on February 20. They looked happy and were holding hands on the red carpet. But soon afterwards, Sushant was seen making solo appearances everywhere and even his social media pages on Twitter and Instagram didn’t have any new photographs of Ankita, unlike before.
Ankita also remained absent from Sushant’s ‘birthday party’ last week, according to a report in DNA. However, Sushant’s birthday falls on January 21, so we’re not sure what party was being talked about. DNA also reported that Sushant has moved out of their home to a hotel in Juhu, and is now looking for a place of his own.
“They have simply grown apart. It happens. When they started, they both wanted similar things. They both had dreams. But somewhere along the way, Ankita was just content doing nothing while his career took off. I think that is where the disconnect began,” the daily reported.
Sushant had earlier said they were planning on getting married in December this year, so we say there is still hope. Also, the fact that neither actor has purged their Instagram account of each other’s photographs shows they could reconcile. The two have been a couple for almost a decade and worked together in their first TV soap, Pavitra Rishta, from 2009 to 2014.
So what happened?
Rumours indicate that Sushant’s Shiuddh Desi Romance co-star Parineeti Chopra may be the reason. Chopra also split from her boyfriend Maneesh Sharma last year.
The past few months have seen a long list celebs call it quits with their partners after a relatively long relationship. Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Singh recently parted ways after six years of dating. Our source said trouble in paradise came with too many “unresolved” differences.
“The two have been trying to make their relationship work for over a year now. Katrina was clearly uncomfortable with Ranbir’s proximity to his ex, Deepika Padukone, during the Tamasha promotions and even gave an explosive interview to a magazine where she hinted about Ranbir being unsure about his choices. Katrina wanted to settle down. They’ve been having too many disagreements and the last straw was when Ranbir moved out of their apartment in Bandra, Mumbai, to his parents’ home. Katrina too has vacated the apartment and is busy promoting her next film,” they revealed.
Before them, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli ended things in February because of their “different marriage plans”, according to Spotboye.com. The website quoted a source saying, “Anushka wants to focus on work in 2016, both as an actress and a producer. She would like to wait till 2017 at least. This led to a fight between Virat and her, and they’re not on great terms now.”
But the shocker is still Malaika Arora Khan asking for a divorce from Arbaaz Khan after 17 years of marriage. A report on Mumbai Mirror suggested that Salman Khan tried to intervene for his brother Arbaaz, but Malaika is not ready to reconsider her decision.
The two recently hosted a TV reality show, Power Couple, on Sony Entertainment Television. Arbaaz would reportedly be left on his own as Malaika often left to tend to other commitments. They appeared together in just three episodes, after much persuasion to shoot them as a couple. However, they always reached or left the sets in separate cars and stayed in separate hotel rooms.
Trouble first surfaced when a report in January by Spotboye.com said Malaika had moved out of the couple’s Bandra home recently with her 14-year-old son Arhaan. Rumour has it that Malaika is dating a British businessman.
Another long term couple that split and shocked fans was Farhan and Adhuna Akhtar.
The actor-filmmaker and hairstylist fell apart after 15 years, announcing their separation in January. Farhan, 42, and Adhuna 48, issued a joint statement announcing the split and asking for their privacy. The two got married in 2000 after a courtship of three years, and have two daughters — Shakya and Akira.
Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut were also in news recently for their very bad and public break up. Hrithik alleged Kangana suffers for Asperger’s and was communicating with someone posing as him while Kangana remained steadfast that it was Hrithik she was talking to.
The two became acquainted while shooting for Kites (2010), but began dating during the making of Krrish 3 (2013). These reports remained unconfirmed though. The controversy started in January when Kangana apparently referred to Hrithik as her ex. “Sometimes exes do silly things to get your attention,” she responded when asked if Hrithik was the reason she was ousted from Aashiqui 3.
