The title for Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma--starrer next is yet to be decided but the Imtiaz Ali film is already making a lot of news: After flooding internet with viral pictures from the exotic sets, reports now claim that the domestic rights of the film has already been sold for a whopping Rs 125 crore.
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, Narendra Hirawat of NH Studioz has acquired the domestic and overseas distribution rights of the film, tentatively titled The Ring, for a staggering Rs 100+ crores. Industry insiders claim that the deal is valued at approx Rs 125 crores, the report added.
“Yes I have acquired the All India and overseas distribution rights of The Ring, but I will not comment on the cost of the same,” the report quoted Hirawat as saying.
Hindustan Times could not independently verify the report.
Tentatively titled The Ring, slated for release in August next year, the movie marks the first collaboration between Shah Rukh and Imtiaz, who has directed six films in his Bollywood career of more than a decade. When asked if he was under any pressure with regard to directing Shah Rukh, Imtiaz said, “No. That is not the arrangement with which we are working. The reason why Shah Rukh and I are working is because both us wanted to do something which we were not doing really,” Imtiaz had earlier said.
In the film, Shah Rukh plays the role of a tourist guide and would be seen opposite actress Anushka Sharma.
