Soha Ali Khan on comments around Saif-Kareena’s outings without their son: Don’t judge

Actor Soha Ali Khan says it’s unfair to judge celebrity parents as one only looks at things from outside without really knowing how involved a parent really is.

Soha Ali Khan is enjoying her pregnancy and making the most of these nine months. The actor recently enjoyed a month-long holiday in London with husband, actor Kunal Kemmu, and shared pictures on Instagram. Though Soha might not be working on a film at the moment, she’s not averse to the idea of working throughout her pregnancy.

“I am going to see how it goes. It’s difficult to say now but it’s definitely possible. I have seen not only Kareena (Kapoor Khan; Soha’s sister-in-law), even my mother (Sharmila Tagore) was shooting right until her seventh month. So it all depends. If all goes well, I would take on as much as I can. But if I get tired or unwell, then I won’t want to overdo it.”

A while ago, a lot was said when Kareena resumed work soon after having a baby in December last year whereas Shahid Kapoor’s wife, Mira Rajput’s comment on working moms leaving their kids at home, didn’t go down well with many. Soha opines that one must do what’s right for them in consultation with the doctor and in tune with their own body.

I don’t know when I’m going to be well enough to go out for a meal or travel for the first time or leave my baby alone for the first time. I’m going to discover these things.

“You can’t judge other people. Some people choose to work, some need to work. Some don’t have the luxury of being at home for 40 days, so there’s no right or wrong in this situation,” she says, adding, “I don’t know what I am going to do. At this point, I just want a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. Later, even I don’t know when I’m going to be well enough to go out for a meal or travel for the first time or leave my baby alone for the first time. I’m going to discover these things.”

Soha says she’s aware there is lot of judgment around brother Saif Ali Khan and Kareena’s frequent outings without their 5-month-old son Taimur. “You can’t comment on other people’s parenting until you’ve been through this yourself. You see things from outside and don’t know what’s happening on the inside. You don’t know how involved a parent is and parenting is not an easy task, so how can you judge?”
