A woman on Tuesday night created ruckus in Connaught Place area in central Delhi after her car rammed into a bike.

A 26-year-old woman and her male friend, a surgeon who owns a private hospital in Noida, were arrested for creating a ruckus and misbehaving with police personnel after their Mercedes Benz SUV rammed a motorcycle, injuring the two riders, at Connaught Place’s inner circle past Tuesday midnight.

Both of them allegedly threatened the onlookers with dire consequences.

The woman allegedly claimed her father was a senior CBI or crime branch officer.

She allegedly verbally abused doctors and other medical staff at the RML Hospital where the two were taken for medical examination.

The woman allegedly tore some official documents belonging to the investigating officer.

“Their medical examination confirmed the presence of alcohol beyond permissible limits,” said Jatin Narwal, DCP (New Delhi).

A case under Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicles Act was registered based on the statement of Sonu, one of the injured bikers, at the Connaught Place police station.

The duo, identified as Neha and 40-year-old surgeon Prashant, were produced before a city court that sent them to Tihar for one day. Neha is a former HR executive at Prashant’s hospital.

Their car in which they were returning home from a restro-bar in CP was confiscated by the police.

Their drama that lasted for over three hours was filmed and later posted on social networking websites. The videos received sharp reactions from thousands of viewers, after which the police registered two separate FIRs and arrested the two who were initially let off after legal formalities.

The high-voltage drama, a police officer said, began about 12.30am near gate number six of Rajiv Chowk Metro station after their car hit two men riding a motorcycle. The biker, Sonu, and his friend fell off the motorcycle and suffered injuries.

But before they could stand on their feet, the duo allegedly rushed out of their vehicle and hurled abuses on the two, triggering an argument between the two parties during which Neha allegedly assaulted the two men, said police.

The video shows how some passersby intervened only to face the wrath of the inebriated woman.
