The cash recovered comprised currency in both old and new notes, police said.
The crime branch of Delhi Police on Saturday night claimed to have recovered cash worth crores during a raid at a law firm in Greater Kailash-I.
The cash comprised currency in both old and new notes, police said.
According to the police, a team of crime branch raided the law firm after a tipoff at around 10:30pm. During the raid, police found cash to the tune of approximately Rs 8 crore stashed in cupboards and suitcases.
The police said though the actual amount of cash was yet to be ascertained, the recovered money amounted to around Rs 6 crore in scrapped currency notes and Rs 2 crore in new notes.
“We are calculating the actual amount of money, but it seems to be unaccounted cash which was stored in the law firm office,” said Ravindra Yadav, joint commissioner of police (crime branch).
