The application process for Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) civil services preliminary examination 2017 will end on Friday at 6pm.
Aspirants who have not yet applied can do so by clicking here. https://www.upsconline.nic.in/mainmenu2.php They are required to check eligibility conditions and instructions carefully before applying.
The exam will be held on June 18 and approximately 980 vacancies would be filled through it.
Candidates will be issued an e-admission certificate three weeks before the commencement of the exam and will be available on the official website of the commission.
Scheme of exam
The civil services exam will be conducted in two successive stages: 1) Preliminary (objective type) for selection of candidates for main exam 2) Civil services (main) exam (written and interview) for selection of candidates for various services and posts announced.
There will be negative marking for wrong answers by a candidate in the objective type question papers.
Candidates who clear the prelims will qualify for the civil services (main) exam. They will have to apply online again in a new form provided to them. The main examination is likely to be held in October.
