Daniel Craig and Katherine Heigl are set to star in Steven Soderbergh’s heist comedy, Logan Lucky. The film, which was being shopped as a hot package in Cannes this year, also stars Channing Tatum, Michael Shannon, Adam Driver, Riley Keough and Seth MacFarlane, reported Deadline.
Channing and Michael will play brothers who plan a heist during a high-profile NASCAR race. Gregory Jacobs, Mark Johnson and Reid Carolin are producing.
Production for Logan Lucky is scheduled to begin this fall, ensuring that Craig has finally cut his ties with Bond franchise.
It has also been widely reported that Jamie Bell has discussed 007’s role with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli. Craig has been very vocal about not wanting to do another Bond. After Spectre, he said publicly that he would rather slash his wrists than do another in the franchise.
Logan Lucky is Steven’s first film after the director vowed to retire from filmmaking. Most recently, he directed the 2013 medical thriller Side Effects starring Tatum, Jude Law, Rooney Mara and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
