Disgraced Hollywood studio boss Harvey Weinstein’s 22-year-old daughter, Remy, on Wednesday made a call to the police, claiming her father was “suicidal and depressed.” TMZ reports that authorities responded to the call at Remy’s Los Angeles house, where they had appeared to have had an argument that ended up in the street.

An LAPD spokesperson confirmed to E! News that they arrived at Remy’s house shortly after 10:30 am for a “family disturbance.” The investigation revealed there was no evidence of crime, and it was ruled as a family dispute.

However, a friend of the Weinsteins told Page Six that Remy “overreacted” when she made the call and that Harvey’s “heart is breaking for his kids.”

“Harvey’s daughter Remy was very upset and concerned for her father, because of what she’d read in the media,” the friend said. “She was crying, so he left his therapy and went to her house on Wednesday morning to comfort her.”

Weinstein has three children - Remy, Emma and Ruth - from first wife, Eve Chilton. On Monday, his second wife, Georgina Chapman, announced her decision to leave him, following a series of exposes published by the New York Times and the New Yorker. The reports quote several actors, colleagues, and acquaintances who allege that Weinstein displayed sexually deviant behaviour for over three decades.
