Chandigarh: Two-year-old dies of swine flu in PGI

A 2-year-old boy from Faridkot died of swine flu at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research here. It is the second swine flu death reported in the city hospital, but so far no such case is reported from a city resident.

A 2-year-old boy from Faridkot died of swine flu at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research here. It is the second swine flu death reported in the city hospital, but so far no such case is reported from a city resident.

Gursahaj Singh had high fever for more than ten days when he was admitted to PGI on April 22. Earlier, a 32-year-old man from Kalka died of swine flu at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Sector 32. The patient was brought to GMCH on April 19 and he was found to be H1N1 positive. He died late Thursday night. 

Last month, a SAS Nagar resident was tested positive for swine flu in the district. In Chandigarh, cases of chikungunya and dengue have been reported at the hospitals.
