Punjab revenue and public relations minister Bikram Singh Majithia told mediapersons here on Wednesday that both the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress were relying on negative propaganda to fight elections and did not have any development agenda for Punjab.

“Both the parties are fearing defeat and thus they are not announcing CM candidate,” said Majithia.

Majithia also announced a grant of Rs 71 lakh for renovation and construction of religious buildings in Majitha at a function to celebrate here. Majthia said Captain Amarinder Singh, who has always maintained distance from his party leaders and people at the ground level, was trying all tricks to befool the people with dramatic kisan yatras, which have turned into a flop show.

“However, people of Punjab are well aware of such dramas,’’ he added.

While addressing the people, Majithia emphasised that the SAD-BJP alliance would form the government for the third consecutive term (in the state) after fighting polls on the sole ‘development agenda’.

Talking about the chief minister face for the coming elections, Majithia said that the SAD-BJP alliance would fight elections under the leadership of Parkash Singh Badal, whereas Congress was running away from announcing the CM candidate.

He also said that Arvind Kejriwal is also not declaring any CM candidate for Punjab, thus people of Punjab should not fall into false promises of such parties.
