The Ludhiana police on Saturday have summoned bollywood actress Sunny Leone and a condom manufacturing company over TV commercial following a complaint of an NGO Raksha Jyoti Foundation on Saturday.

The NGO alleged that the TV commercial of a condom manufacturing company in which Sunny Leone is endorsing the brand is vulgar. The NGO has filed a criminal complaint with police commissioner Paramraj Singh Umranangal on Wednesday. The police commissioner has marked an inquiry to assistant commissioner of police (ACP, Traffic) Dr Richa Agnihotri.
Investigating in the matter, the ACP has summoned the actress, the company and the advertiser to record their statements with the police.
Talking to Hindustan Times, the ACP said they have called on Sunny Leone, the condom manufacturing company and the advertising agency people to come and to record their statement regarding the complaint. The police will give one-week time to appear and for recording their statements.
Ashwin Behal, national president of the NGO, said most of the media sources are promoting nudity and obscenity through their commercials these days which is very concerning for our society. Families feel ashamed and embarrassed when these advertisements pop up suddenly on television. He further added that the probability of young children engaging in sexual activities detrimental to them increases manifold after viewing uncensored advertisements displaying and promoting sex.
