Two girls from the city have clinched ranks in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), the result of which was declared by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday.
Shreya Malhan of St Soldier School has bagged 270th rank while Khyati of Swami Sant Dass Public School has got 151st rank in the reserved category.
Shreya Malhan, who did her Class 12 from St Soldier School, said that clearing the NEET was like a dream come true.
Daughter of doctor parents, Shreya had got 56th rank in the Punjab medical entrance test (PMET). She said, “I have also cleared the PMET, but when I got to know about the NEET’s results, the feeling is something else.” “Although the preparation was the same for both the exams, the difficulty level of chemistry and physics subjects was higher in the NEET,” she said.
Khyati had scored 94% marks in Class 12. Khyati’s father is a scientist and her mother is a school teacher. Father Dr Raj Kumar, while sharing his happiness, said that he was sure that Khyati would get through the exam but such a good rank is what he had never expected.
Khyati, who is eyeing Delhi medical colleges, said that clearing the NEET was like an achievement because there were a lot of apprehensions among the students and parents too. “I feel so happy and glad and I am hopeful that I will get college of my choice,” he said.
