Biz expo opens in Ranchi

The two days Global Investors’ Summit to be organised by the Jharkhand government in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industries ( CII) has something for the common man too.
Altogether 250 companies of national and international repute, beside local industry, would display their products during the two day summit at Khelgaon premises .
Major brand participants that would exhibit their products include SAIL, Tata Group, JSPL, JSW, Hindalco, DVC, Coal India, Mecon, NTPC, Usha Martin and HEC . Besides, higher and technical educational institutions , skill development ,healthcare , real estate ,textiles and footwear companies are also to exhibit their products .
According to organisers, the exhibition though would mainly focussing on industrial growth would be open to the common man from 4 to 8 pm on both days, February 16 and 17.
“The exhibitors would be displaying a variety of equipment and their core expertise in exhibition halls erected especially for the event in Khalgaon premises,” said Sunil Kumar Barnawal secretary to chief minister Raghubar Das. Each exhibitor has been given two stalls, he said.
It’s not only the industries but institutions like Indian Institute of Technology –ISM ( IIT-ISM) are also participating in the two day event . IIT – ISM has stalls display the success story of the institute in industry- institution participation for development of society.
Tata that is collaborating with Hitachi of Japan has come up with ‘ series of equipment for smart city solutions. “These include small size equipments to facilitate mechanical cleaning of the city with help of minimum manpower,” said one of the executives of the company, while talking to HT but refused to be quoted officially. The latest models of Tata passenger cars too are on display at the exhibition.
Real estate developers also have come up with stalls to showcase their products.
Shyam Pandey managing director of 99 Builder Private Limited said the company is developing new townships in West Bengal and Jharkhand. Exhibits would be helpful in making people aware of the offers .
R S Singh a retired engineer from PWD who eagerly awaits opening of the summit told HT, “People of Jharkhand are vying for development. The initiative taken by the government would certainly boost investment prospects. Local businessman from all sectors would be benefited by the exhibition.”
