The latest addition to his list is an experimental art exhibition that uses molten coal tar meshed with a variety of solid and liquid metals on canvas to form 3D art pieces. “I have been working on this genre for the past two and a half years.

I have used a variety of materials like nuts, bolts, nails, plastic and even generator parts besides coal tar and lead to give a 3D effect to my art work,” says the artist. In his work, Lamba has depicted a range of motifs and images, achieving a blend of abstract and familiar forms such as human figures and landscape.

There are 32 works on display, priced between 10,000 to 2.5 lakh. “Some of my work has been displayed under specific series like Series of faces and Series of Kali,” he adds.

Explaining his work, Lamba says, “One of the pieces in the Series of faces showcases a close up of a human face that is made using wax, lead, metal sheets and wire mesh. All these different materials used give the work a sense of mystery. Also, the eyes are a very prominent part of this artwork and they have been created by using burnt metal sheet.

The exhibition starts tomorrow and continues till August 1 at Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road;
Timings: 10 am to 8 pm.
