The evening before the Republic Day was the apt setting for the opening of Kumar Gallery, hosted by owner Vinit Kumar, with an exhibition titled Celebrations 2011. Situated in the posh Sunder Nagar area of Delhi, the gallery showcased works by 22 artists.

The event was inaugurated by minister of state for commerce and industry Jyotiraditya Scindia and member of parliament Dr Prabha Thakur. Others seen at do were artists Satish Gujral, Paresh Maity, film critic Aruna Vasudev and actor Nasser Abdullah.
