A new exhibition in the city aims to celebrate the precious moments of life through paintings, photographs and sculptures. Called Jashn, it features 72 artists from different walks of life.
“Through this exhibition, I want to tell people that every moment is a celebration,” says Attika Jain, founder, Kaavya, a non-profit organisation which is behind the show. “We all have dreams of being an artist, dancer or musician as a child. But as we grow up, they often get sidelined in the practicalities of life. I am trying to re-kindle those dreams among aspiring artists and give them a platform to showcase their art,” says Jain, who quit her job as a marketing professional to start this group last year.
The featured artists double as students, engineers, management and finance professionals during day.
From portraits of happy people to landscapes and cityscapes representing urbanisation, the artwork on display is varied. The abstract work titled Serare (Latin word for hope) by first timer Aditya V Tibrewala, 31, also a finance professional depicts his hope of life through colours. “My job allows me to travel across the world and capture beautiful sights, but I love doing abstract photography which is open to the viewer’s interpretation,” says Tibrewala who took to photography two years ago.

The photograph Spirit by Shivani Punia, 35, an accessory designer turned photo-artist is an attempt towards creating dynamic wall art. “The picture of colourful balloons flying in the air represents fun and freedom of the spirit,” says Punia.
