On the eve of World Photography Day, we bring together the finest from the growing tribe of photo clubs in Delhi. A look at facets of the city, told through its lens-happy citizens.

Shashwat Nagpal (32)

Club: Delhi Foto Club

About the Image: Sid Trehan, founder, says the ‘thoughtfully taken’ photo of Lodhi Gardens takes the viewer into a moment of nostalgia: a glimpse of the city’s glorious Mughal past. "Free-spirited children and vast blue skies add to the idea of possibilities for those who aspire to achieve."

Club: Delhi Photographers

About the Image: Fahad Moti Khan, head of the club, says Vohra has an eye for moments that he captures keeping the aesthetics of the composition. "The selected image represents the common perception of vision-less leadership and the common man’s indifference, which have been at the core of public discussions in recent times."

Shanib Khan (26)

Club: Delhi Photography Club

About the image: Anil Kumar, founder of the club, says Khan’s photo was chosen because the minaret has not been "seen this way". "With the plane overhead there’s texture... there’s colour and vibrancy, too. Technically, it’s strong, because photos taken at dusk tend to be blurred. Khan managed to get it sharp, clear."

Arvinder Singh (43)

Club: Photo Sensitive

About the Image: Joginder Singh, founder, says Arvinder’s work celebrates Delhi’s power and architecture. "Arvinder has been able to capture the timelessness of Jama Masjid’s architecture and the free spirit of Delhi."
