Excerpts from artist’s last few conversations
Legendary artist late MF Husain also had a penchant for poetry. A few days before he passed away, designer Pria Kataaria Puri happened to video record a two-hour conversation with him in Kuwait. Here are some excerpts: “I have only 10 per cent interest in painting and have 90 per cent other interests that I have invested a lot of time in.In a way, you can say I’m the jack-of-all-trades but master of none! But I’m extremely happy with that…”

“MF Husain is not my name; this is the name people have given me. My name is Maqbool; he is the painter. I never did one painting, but a lot of series. My favourite is on Insaniyat (humanity). I did a lot series depicting humanity on nine religions that are recognised the world over…”
