This weekend a unique film festival is being organised in Delhi. The 2nd Sadho Poetry Film Fest 2009-2010 will be held on the evenings of 26th and 27th December at Alliance Francaise, New Delhi.

This festival is unique as it focuses exclusively on Poetry Films and is the only one of its kind in Asia. This time it will showcase forty five poetry-films from fifteen countries.

It includes films made on the poetry of Sufi poets like Jalaluddin Rumi and Bulle Shah, Haiku masters like Basho, Shiki and Kyoshi, Kashmiri saint poets Lal Ded and Shaikh Nuruddin Vali, modern poets like Sylvia Platth and the legendary Hindi poet Nirala.

The festival is being organised by Sadho, a voluntary organisation that aims at taking great poetry to people through innovative use of media, art and social action. The organisation also plans taking the festival to various other cities across the country next year, including Mumabi, Kolkata, and Chennai and Goa. The first edition of this biennial festival was organised in 2007 in Delhi and its travel version took the films to seven other cities. Sadho promises this to be a rare treat for the lovers of literature, films and art.
