What would happen if Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan was still alive and wanted to construct the Taj Mahal in this century? With the existing system steeped in corruption, chances are, the Taj Mahal would never quite get constructed. Exploring this situation is a comic play,

, awaited eagerly by the Capital every year.

"The play deals with something we see in our day-to-day lives. It’s about everything gets delayed because of corruption. This was evident during Commonwealth Games, too,” says Ajay Shukla, the writer of the play.

How did he come up with the plot, which has become so popular over the years? “One day, I happened to wonder what’d happen if Shah Jahan chose to build the monument in today’s age, given that it took him seven years to get it constructed back then. It wouldn’t even see the light of day in 25 years!" he says.

The characters of the satire hail from different parts of the country and hence speak different languages.
