32-year-old man shot dead with arrows in Madhya Pradesh

A 32-year-old man was shot dead with arrows in Singrauli district, 730km east of Bhopal on Saturday, police said. The incident occurred at Koluha village under Deosar police station of the district.

The incident occurred at Koluha village under Deosar police station of the district. According to the police, Prabhat Choubey, a resident of Khadora village, had gone to his fields in Kohula village, where he had a dispute with Suresh Kol alias Pappu over some issue. Choubey allegedly slapped Pappu, who was reportedly in an inebriated state.

Later, Pappu went inside his house, took out his bow and arrows and attacked Choubey, the police said, adding that two arrows hit Choubey.

Some villagers rushed Choubey to a government hospital in Deosar town. As his condition deteriorated, he was referred to Nehru Shatabdi Hospital in Singrauli but he died on the way.

Superintendent of police (SP), Singrauli, D Kalyan Chakrawarti said the accused had been arrested and sent to jail after being produced in court.
