About 20 youth, who had been called to Bhopal by the consultancy for signing the agreements, approached MP Nagar police station and lodged a complaint on Friday.

The consultancy had two offices in Bhopal — one in front of Board Office and another is on Hamidia Road.

According to duped job seekers, the consultancy had published an advertisement on its website and sought applications for the various posts. It had also posted an advertisement on the job site naukari.com. Later, it had approached many candidates.

The candidates, who had applied for the jobs, were called to Bhopal for interviews on August 25. On reaching Bhopal, they asked to pay Rs 2,000 each as the consultancy fee. Afterwards, the aspirants received emails from the human resources (HR) officer Sanad Singh, informing them that they have to go through a medical check-up that will be done at Amardeep Hospital in Surat. Each candidate had to pay Rs 6500 at hospital as the ‘medical fee’.

MP Nagar police said that over 15 youths had lodged a complaint and they have started investigation in the matter. "We have registered a complaint and the action in the case would be taken according to investigation," said town inspector of MP Nagar Police station Brajesh Bharav.
