The action plan includes details of the phases under which the BMC will undertake work to remove pollution in lake.

The bench was hearing the case filed by environmentalist Subash Pandey. It had given a day to the state government to come up with an action plan for Shahpura Lake.

The works under phase-I are likely to be completed by April, 2016, though most are scheduled to be over by May, 2015.

Counsels appearing on behalf of the BMC said necessary financial provision amounting to over Rs 12 crore was available with the corporation for completion of the phase-I. Under the second phase, works which mostly involve conservation and management proposals would be completed by July, 2016.

Counsel appearing for the state government said necessary assistance and financial allocations for phase-II works would be provided under the budget for 2015-2016.
