A 32-year-old was allegedly raped by a doctor in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal on the pretext of treating her, police said on Wednesday.
The accused, indentified as AD Khan, who runs a homeopathic clinic, has been arrested, said Arvind Saxena, superintendent of police.
“The woman lodged a complaint, saying that she had been sedated and raped when she had gone for treatment at the clinic run by Khan in Koh-e-Fiza area of the city on January 18,” he said.
The woman in her complaint said she has been visiting the clinic for the past one month and the accused had administered drugs on several occasions which left her unconscious. But, on January 18, she was in a semi-unconscious state and realised that she had been raped.
The victim in her complaint said when she confronted the accused, he threatened her with dire consequences, police said.
The woman, who is married, reached home and informed her husband about the incident. The couple lodged a complaint with the Koh-e-Fiza police.
“A case has been registered under Sections 506 and 376 of the Indian Penal Code. The accused has been arrested and further investigation was on,” said Saxena.
