The examination was held in 2012 for recruitment to the posts of transport constables.

It was however said that details pertaining to constable recruitment was missing from the hard disk of system analyst of MP Professional Examination Board (PEB) Pankaj Mohindra, who is the main accused in the PEB scam.

The Congress had been alleging that many among those recruited as constables were from Gondia--a town in Maharashtra from where the wife of a top BJP leaders hails from.

The allegation against Mohindra is that he tampered with the results to accommodate certain candidates in the final merit list. Senior police officials were unavailable for comment. The police officials had earlier said that the case would be registered but it was getting delayed. Finally, the FIR was registered on Monday.
