Bhopal: STF to present chargesheet in BDS-2013 scam on August 30

The negligence of exam centre head Kalika Yadav has been confirmed in the supplementary charge-sheet of STF in BDS scam-2013. The chargesheet will be presented before the court on August 30.

The negligence of examination centre head Kalika Yadav has been confirmed in the supplementary charge-sheet of the special task force (STF) in BDS scam-2013 of Barakatullah University. The chargesheet regarding the case will be presented before the court on August 30.

Sources told HT that it has been mentioned in the chargesheet that Kalika Yadav did not maintain the stock register of the answer sheets. This made possible for racketeers involved in the scam to take answer sheets out from the examination centre and also submitted them late by 20-25 minutes.

"As per rule, the examination centre head is responsible to maintain a stock register about distribution of answer sheets to students. The examination centre head has to ensure that all the distributed answer sheets are submitted on time. However, negligence of Yadav has led to this scam, as he did not maintain the register," a senior officer of STF said on the condition of the anonymity.

Yadav’s name figured in the case during the course of interrogation. Subsequently, he was arrested and sent to jail. Later, he got a bail. The STF officer said the supplementary chargesheet would be presented against 109 accused. Earlier, STF had presented chargesheet against 40 accused. There are a total of 163 accused are in the case. Of 163, 153 have been arrested while as others accused are still at large.
