Union minister for minorities' welfare Najma Heptullah, while participating in the foundation stone laying ceremony of the model village scheme in village Phanda in Huzur tehsil, said it was a homecoming of sorts for her.

Heptullah hails from village Neelukhedi which is located close by. Phanda has been adopted by Najma Heptullah under the model village scheme.
Making a playground, cleaning of the lake, improvement of roads and cleaning are the first tasks that would be taken up in Phanda. This was discussed by the minister and collector Nishant Warwade who was also present there.
The model village is to be developed by 2016 under the scheme. Each MP is to take up one village in his or her constituency. Minister for women and child development Maya Singh was also present on the occasion.
