A second year MBBS student of LN Medical College registered a complaint against four students accusing them of ragging and allegedly forcing him to strip off his clothes at public places.
In the complaint to the national anti-ragging helpline, the student alleged that he had been harassed by a group of four students of third year for the past few weeks. The seniors beat him up and also forced him to remove his clothes on the college premises, the complaint said.
The helpline, which registered its first complaint of the year, has forwarded the matter to the police but no case has been lodged yet.
However, LN Medical College dean has denied the incident.
Dean Dr Swarna Biseria Gupta said, “The complaint of ragging is not genuine. We have completed our inquiry and have found that the student, who lodged complaint at the helpline, had been suspended by college authorities for creating ruckus in the college a few days ago. He lodged a complaint to take revenge from these students.”
Last year, Madhya Pradesh came second as far as registration of ragging compliant at the helpline was concerned. After Uttar Pradesh, 74 students of the state had lodged complaint at the helpline last year.
